The tech for a production is not often seen in the light of recognition it deserves. When a performance is watched, all the audience sees are the actors and the captivation of the show. What the audience does not see is all the hard work not only of the actors and actresses but the tech crew puts into the performance. Tech is responsible for the building of the set, the costumes, the lights and sounds, and even the tiniest of details such as pencils the actors might hold in their hands. Tons of creativity and give and take are involved in pulling off a show from the tech side. Although the tech crew never sees the stage, a significant amount of stress goes along with the live performances. Costume malfunctions, props not being where they need to be, or even the sound not cooperating are all a part of the pressures of being on the tech crew. However, the tech crew at La Salle never fails to work extremely hard to pull off an amazing show and portrays just how tech is the backbone of show business.
